National Asthma Council Australia Website
Who? The National Asthma Council Australia
The National Asthma Council Australia sets the standard for asthma care nationally. They’re the trusted authority helping organisations provide the best possible care for people across Australia with asthma and allergies. And, in their mission to help people breathe better, they provide up-to-date advice, address inequalities in asthma outcomes, and shape the policies around the illness.
Why? To improve the user experience
The NAC provides best-practice, evidence-based guidance for the country’s health professionals through their Australian Asthma Handbook. They needed this guide to be as user-friendly as possible, as well as a better way to update it so it could be recognised as a current best-practice resource. Basically, it’s crucial that health professionals can navigate their way easily and quickly around the guide, and that they can rely on its accuracy. The NAC was also looking for a portal to house its parent website.

How? New digital products
We kicked off the process with a discovery session that gave us the opportunity to learn what the NAC’s audience needed most. Thanks to this session, plus additional market research, we learned that healthcare professionals were looking for a way to quickly search for a symptom, diagnosis or information that was current.
We then delved into the design and development of the new version of the Australian Asthma Handbook and website portal. Working with a data expert meant we had the stats to guide the design, so we were able to analyse the user journey and make it streamlined. We ran the products through strict quality control before deploying.
What now? The stats
The National Asthma Council Australia now has an updated handbook that website visitors - especially health professionals - can easily access through the NAC website. We made this handbook user-friendly not just from an audience perspective, but for our client too. Now, the NAC can update the handbook as new information and guidance need to be published.
Since launching the new digital products, website traffic has increased by 280%, and there has been a $500 increase in PDFs created.
